The project lifecycle begins the moment a client requests a bid. Your goal is to respond quickly with a quote that is both competitive and accurately reflects the scope of work. The Kalever Pricing Tool is designed to streamline this process, whether you have a full draft questionnaire or just a project brief. The human subjective factor is limited to improve the accuracy of the quotes.
Method 1: When the Client Provides a Draft Questionnaire #
This is the most straightforward path to a fast and accurate quote.
Scenario: Our client, ‘Luxury Brands,’ has requested a quote for a brand perception survey. They have provided a draft questionnaire in a Word document.
Workflow:
The most efficient method is to let Kalever’s AI analyze the document for you. The “Quote from document” feature saves you from manually counting questions and estimating complexity, generating a detailed baseline quote in seconds.

Method 2: When the Client Provides a Project Scope #
If you don’t have a document to upload, you can easily build a quote based on the project specifications provided in the client’s brief.
Scenario: Our client, ‘Luxury Brands,’ has requested a quote for a 15-minute brand perception survey in 5 countries. They have not provided a questionnaire but have specified the target audience and key research objectives.
Workflow:
In this case, you will use the “Quote from specs” feature. This allows you to generate a precise quote by entering the key project metrics yourself.
- Choose Your Mode:
- For a standard project, Simple Mode is often sufficient. Enter the estimated LOI (15 minutes), number of languages (5), number of completes, and an approximate number of questions.
- If the brief mentions complex exercises (like MaxDiff or Conjoint), start with Advanced Mode. This allows you to add specific line items for these high-value tasks right from the start.
- Generate the Quote: Fill in the client’s details and the project specifications to create the quote.

Final Step for Both Scenarios: Review, Refine, and Send #
Regardless of how you created the initial quote, a final review is a critical step to ensure accuracy.
Best Practice: Check the client’s brief for any mention of advanced research exercises that may require special pricing (e.g., a MaxDiff or Conjoint section). If the initial quote needs adjustment, you can easily edit it. From the Pricing Dashboard, click the Edit icon next to your new quote and switch the Mode to “Advanced” to add or modify line items for these complex tasks. This ensures your final bid is perfectly aligned with the project scope.
Once you are confident that the quote is complete and accurate, you can download it directly from the Pricing Dashboard. The system will format it into a professional PDF using your company’s template, ready to be sent to the client.
